low-cost housing units
The Telanganastate government has allocated ₹11,917 crore to build low-cost housing units across the state this fiscal, said state CM in an official statement, adding that with this six-year long wait and dream to own a housing unit will be materialized. The state has targeted to build one lakh houses in and around Greater Hyderabad Metropolitan area on a fast track basis. Currently, construction on majority of the sanctioned 2.72 lakh 2-bhk housing units is nearing completion, but the contractors stopped work at several projects over non-payment of dues. The 2020-2021 budgetary allocation has made clear that the 2-BHK housing projects will be completed and allotted to the homeless as the ruling party has promised to deliver houses to the needy in its election manifesto.
