TATA-CHEC wins Rs.1,048-cr Wadala-Kasaradavali metro contract

In a recent development, the Joint Venture of TATA Projects Limited and China Harbour Engineering Company (TPL-CHEC) have secured a letter of award (LoA) for the construction of two packages of the Mumbai Metro Elevated Line 4. For the packages, which lie on the line extending between Wadala & Kasaradavali, the combined investment for both packages is Rs 1,048 crore and requires the contractor to design and construct 14 elevated stations with a viaduct of 12.5 km to improve connectivity with Thane. The project is challenging as it involves construction in highly congested locations as well as management of logistics for transportation and erection of heavy girders, said COO, Urban Infrastructure, TATA Projects, Vivek Singhal, adding that his company has successfully completed a similar jobs in the National Capital Region with DMRC and is well versed with the required engineering techniques whilst possessing in-house best-in-class workforce to ensure safe, sound and speedy operations.
