The new Jaisalmer–Delhi Express will significantly improve rail connectivity between the national capital and western Rajasthan. Major cities such as Ramdevra, Jodhpur, Makrana, Jaipur and Alwar will now have enhanced and more convenient access to Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Vaishnaw said Indian Railways is achieving new milestones every day, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to elevate India’s railway infrastructure. He highlighted that projects worth about Rs 55,000 crore are currently underway in Rajasthan, marking unprecedented development in the state.
As part of the expansion of the railway network in border regions, the proposal for a new line from Anupgarh to Khajuwala, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer and up to Bhabhar is progressing through various stages. Shri Vaishnaw noted that these lines will not only benefit local passengers but will also play a vital role in strengthening strategic support for the armed forces.
