Statue of Unity gets rail connectivity in Gujarat

Statue of Unity
The state government is all set to connect the Statue of Unity in Gujarat's Kevadiya area with a railway network. V K Yadav, Railway Board chairman, informed that the train services will take passengers up to 5-km from the statue. Currently, Vadodara, Bharuch and Ankleshwar stations provide nearest rail connectivity to the statue and the nearest airports are Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and Vadodara Airport. The land has been acquired for the project, which envisaged gauge conversion between the Dabhoi-Chandod on the 18-km long route and a new line of 32-km between Chandod and Kevadia. While track work between Dhaboi to Chandod has been completed, the line between Chandod and Kevadia is expected to be completed shortly as all three major and 16 minor bridges between Dabhoi-Chandod are being built on fast-track bases. Out of four major and 47 minor bridges between Chandod and Kevadia, work on one major bridge and 22 minor bridges have also been completed.
