The Bihar Cabinet has recently approved Rs. 465-cr for formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), 'Bhagalpur Smart City Limited Company', for development of Bhagalpur under the Central government's Smart City Mission. Under the proposal of the state urban development and housing department, the estimated cost of forming the SPV is about Rs. 1,309.30cr. In addition, Gramin Tola Sampark Nischai Yojana, which is a part of CM- Nitish Kumar's seven initiatives, 12,500 km roads will be built to link 33,461 tolas between 2016 to 2020, said Principal Secretary (cabinet secretariat department), Brajesh Mehrotra.
