Siemens & RVNL Secure ₹766 Cr Order for Bengaluru Metro Electrification

Siemens Limited, in a consortium with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has secured a ₹766 crore order from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for the electrification of the Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 project. Siemens Limited's share in the consortium is approximately Rs. 558 crore.

The project entails designing, engineering, installing, and commissioning rail electrification technologies, along with a digital Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. It spans 30 stations over 58 kilometers, connecting Bengaluru Airport terminal to Central Silk Board via KR Puram, including two depots. With this order, Siemens is now involved in metro projects in 11 out of the 20 Indian cities that have metro systems.
