RVNL Wins Rs 1,201 Cr Contract for New Rail-Cum-Road Ganga Bridge in Varanasi

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from Northern Railway for a project worth Rs 1,201.35 crore. The contract involves design and construction of a new rail-cum-road Bridge No. 11 over the Ganga, about 50 metres downstream of the existing Malviya Bridge near Kashi Railway Station in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The scope includes substructure and superstructure works with open web steel girders, four railway tracks on the lower deck and a six-lane road on the upper deck, along with rail and road approaches, overhead electrification and general electrical works.

The project will be executed within 48 months through a joint venture in which RVNL holds a 60 percent stake and GPT Infraprojects holds 40 percent. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and is not a related party transaction.
