RVNL bags Rs. 34,000cr metro contracts

Riding high on the back of the on-going metro projects in Kolkata being built by the Kolkata Metro Development Authority (KMDA) the state capital of West Bengal, Railway Vikas Nigam Limited, currently commanded an order book worth Rs. 34,000-cr of which about Rs. 13,000-cr projects are under execution and others about Rs. 6,700-cr projects are in the pipeline and are under planning and development stages. While projects worth Rs. 6,600-cr are adversely affected or held up for land acquisition, law and order and other issues and projects costing about Rs. 4,900-cr are awaiting clearances from the centre and states governments. The Kolkata Metro Development Authority (KMDA) is currently going out all ensuring the extension of a bridge, removal of a fish market, traffic diversion, to a major job of removal of 350 hutments of Kamarhati and Baranagar municipalities for the past half decade.
