₹7,283.28 Cr Gorakhpur Link Expressway Inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 91.35-km Gorakhpur Link Expressway on Friday. Built at a cost of ₹7,283.28 crore, the four-lane access-controlled expressway connects Jaitpur near NH-27 in Gorakhpur to Salarpur in Azamgarh, linking directly with the Purvanchal Expressway.
The expressway traverses four districts—Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, and Azamgarh—and is designed for future expansion to six lanes. It significantly reduces travel time across key areas like Urwa, Dhuriyapar, Khajni, and Belghat, cutting the Gorakhpur–Urwa journey from one hour to just 20–25 minutes.
Constructed in two phases, the Jaitpur–Phulwaria stretch (48.317 km) was executed by APCO Infratech, while Dilip Buildcon completed the Phulwaria–Salarpur stretch (43.035 km). The expressway is expected to boost connectivity, trade, and regional development across Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
