Rs. 211-cr push for Gurgaon-Jaipur Highway

Gurgaon Jaipur Highway
The highways ministry has approved for Rs. 211 crore to make Gurgaon-Jaipur stretch of NH-8 safer and better for road users. The amount will be spent for installing metal beam crash barriers, building 20 foot overbridges and constructing big drains to prevent flooding the highway.

This is over and above Rs. 350 crore that NHAI board approved last week for completing the remaining work. Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, has approved these works and has directed NHAI to complete works quickly. "All these works will cost around Rs 98 crore. Major drains totaling about 30 km will also be constructed at Kothputli, Pawta, Behrod and Sahapura in Rajasthan so that water coming from towns don't enter the highway," an NHAI official said.
