Uttarakhand Govt Approves MoU to Extend Ganga Expressway to Haridwar

GangaExpressway.
The Uttarakhand Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh Government to extend the Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Haridwar, paving the way for faster road connectivity between the two states.

The proposed extension is expected to reduce travel time between Meerut and Haridwar to around 90 minutes, compared to the current journey of nearly three hours. The project will strengthen connectivity for commuters, businesses, tourists and pilgrims travelling between western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The extension will integrate Haridwar into the broader Ganga Expressway corridor, which connects several key cities and districts across Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj, while also passing through Bijnor and Amroha en route to Uttarakhand.

The project is expected to enhance regional mobility, improve access to Haridwar and support tourism, trade and economic activity between the two neighbouring states.
