UP govt invests Rs 9,000-cr in road infrastructure over 5,000 kms

The Uttar Pradesh government has invested significantly in road infrastructure, completing over 5,000kms of roadworks in the last six and a half years. With an allocation of approximately Rs 9,000 crores, the state focuses on widening, strengthening, and reconstructing roads to enhance connectivity. The Public Works Department (PWD) has connected 26 tehsil headquarters and 131 block headquarters with two-lane roads, with ongoing efforts to connect the remaining 22 block headquarters. The initiative includes a proposed Rs 174 crore for a 48-kilometre road, reinforcing the government's commitment to robust road development in Uttar Pradesh.
