To ensure hassle-free transport services across the state, the central and state agencies have fast-tracked road infrastructure projects including the Lucknow ring road involving a combined investment of ₹7,500 crore. Union Defence Minister and local MP, Rajnath Singh, informed that the 105 km long Ring Road in the capital of UP will be completed as quickly as possible. Once commissioned, it would ease the movement of vehicular traffic arriving in Lucknow from other cities. During his recent visit to the city, he also reviewed the construction work of an overbridge located near Bada Imambara in Lucknow's Chowk area. By constructing the ring road, the road users can reach their destination directly and the city will get rid of traffic jams. The ring road project also involved the construction of nine over bridges, of which five are nearing completion and the construction work is in full swing in the remaining four over bridges and will also be completed shortly. Also, the 2.5 km long over bridge at Victoria Street will be completed in the next couple of months.
