NHAI hastens Rs 4,130-cr Mysuru-Kushalnagar NH project
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has accelerated the construction work on Mysuru-Kushalnagar national highway, which involves an investment of Rs 4,130 crore. The NHAI has urged the state administration to expedite land acquisition for the project. The foundation stone for 93-kilometer highway between Mysuru and Kushalnagar has already been laid by the Prime Minister, and contracts have been awarded for the phased construction in two packages: from Paschimavahini in Srirangapatna to Periyapatna, and from Periyapatna to Guddehosur.
This new highway will connect the Expressway between Mysuru and Bengaluru, known as Mysuru-Kodagu, as stated by Chief Engineer of NHAI, Vivek Jaiswal. The NHAI has completed the alignment and design of the Expressway, including bypasses, bridges, and underpasses. Various departments, such as Forest, Irrigation, Revenue, Energy, and Horticulture, have been directed to facilitate the relocation of existing infrastructure, and funds have been allocated accordingly. The ongoing land acquisition process is expected to conclude shortly, bringing the project closer to fruition.
