NHAI Announces Green Highways Excellence Awards 2026 Winners
The awards were presented across three categories: Avenue Plantations, Median Plantations, and Plantation in Land Parcels, including clover leaves, interchanges, toll plazas and service areas. NHAI field offices, concessionaires, contractors, government agencies, NGOs and private agencies involved in highway plantation projects were eligible to participate.
In the Avenue Plantations category, the first prize went to the six-laning project of the Chilakaluripet Bypass on NH-16 in Andhra Pradesh under RO Vijayawada. The second prize was awarded to the eight-lane Vadodara-Kim Expressway, Padra to Vadodara section of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat under RO Gandhinagar. The third prize went to the Gagariya-Bakhasar section of NH-925 and Satta-Gandhav section of NH-925A under RO Jaipur. The consolation prize was awarded for the annual maintenance and incident management of the Trichy-Karaikudi section of NH-210, NH-336, NH-36 and NH-536, including Trichy Bypass, under RO Madurai.
In the Median Plantations category, the first prize was awarded to the four-laning project of the Hyderabad-Yadgiri section of NH-163 under RO Hyderabad. The eight-lane Vadodara-Kim Expressway, Sanpa to Padra section of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat under RO Gandhinagar secured the second prize. The third prize went to Package-I of the Varanasi Ring Road, covering the Harahua to Sandaha section of NH-31 under RO UP East (Varanasi).
In the Plantation in Land Parcels category, the first prize was awarded to the Jamtha Clover Leaf and Oxygen Bird Park on NH-44 under RO Nagpur. The second prize went to land parcels at Duhai Interchange under Bundle-7 of the Monetisation of Public Funded Operational National Highway Projects through Tolling, Operation, Maintenance and Transfer (ToT), under RO Delhi. The third prize was awarded to the Miyawaki plantation in loop areas at the Lucknow-Ayodhya Road and Lucknow Outer Ring Road intersection under RO UP West (Lucknow).
Through the Green Highways Excellence Awards, NHAI aims to encourage sustainable plantation practices and promote greener, better-managed landscapes along India’s National Highway network.
