NHAI clears 2.5-km long flyover-cum-ROB in Ranchi

NHAI
Desk has been cleared for construction of an elevated flyover from Piska More to Zakir Hussain Park and Road Over Bridge (RoB) at Nagri, as the National Highway Authority of India has given technical approval for the construction of two major road projects which will upscale road infrastructure facilities at Ranchi in Jharkhand. Work on the projects is likely to start by November this year. The elevated flyover from Piska Mor to Zakir Hussain Park will connect two roads — one from Gumla side and other from Kuru side. Once constructed the elevated four-lane flyover will be 2.5 km in length and will be on a single pillar. The advantage of Ratu Road flyover is that it will be constructed within the available space, which means that no land acquisition and demolition work needed to be carried out for road widening. There is also a plan to build a junction under this elevated road. Apart from approval for elevated flyover at Ratu Road, the NHAI has also given its consent for construction of road-over-bridge at Nagri. The four-lane Nagri ROB will be 700 metre in length and will also be constructed within two years.
