Nitin Gadkari has laid the foundation stones of 222-km long nine road corridors involving an investment of ₹6,155 crore in Himachal Pradesh. These road projects will ensure prosperity for the people of state and the road travel time from Delhi to Kullu will be reduced to just seven hours within two years. Work related to the construction of 11 more tunnels will soon be awarded on a fast-track basis in the state. The government has accorded top priority to Manali–Leh tunnel construction and road construction works with an outlay of around ₹15 lakh crore have been planned for the state. He also announced to award works related to 491-km long road construction in Himachal Pradesh as quality roads construction and connectivity is the top priority for the state and central governments.
