MMRDA to extend Versova-Virar Sea Link to Palghar

MMRDA
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is set to extend the Versova-Virar Sea Link to Palghar, scouting consultants for the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The proposed 43-km sea link aims to ease congestion, providing an efficient route from South Mumbai to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, catering to high traffic density. The extension not only promises improved coastal connectivity but is also expected to boost tourism and economic activities. Additionally, MMRDA plans a peer review to ensure the alignment's appropriateness, addressing challenges like relief and rehabilitation, environmental concerns, and optimizing the project's functionality through best industry practices.
