NHAI plans elevated road to address safety concerns on Katraj-Dehu road bypass

NHAI
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to embark on a Rs 4,200-crore project to construct a 5.2-km elevated road stretch from near Swaminarayan Temple to Warje, aiming to address safety issues associated with the notorious Katraj-Dehu Road bypass. The stretch has earned the infamous "killer road" tag over the years.

According to Bharat Todkari, the consulting engineer of NHAI's Pune division, a comprehensive report on the project has been prepared, encompassing the construction of the elevated road up to the Warje flyover. While the detailed project report is currently under scrutiny for modifications and improvements, once approved by all relevant departments and the ministry, funds will be allocated, and construction is expected to take at least three years to complete after the commencement of work.
