CIDCO floats tender for Rs 5,182-cr road infra in NAINA area
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has issued tenders for the construction of roads and other associated infrastructure in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA), according to Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, the VC and MD of CIDCO. NAINA is a major urban planning project in Maharashtra, and CIDCO is developing a well-planned city around the Navi Mumbai International Airport. The project is being implemented through Town Planning Schemes (TPS), and CIDCO is working to ensure speedy implementation of each TPS scheme. Tenders for development works under TPS 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 have already been floated, and work on the associated land will begin shortly. In addition, construction of a bridge near Devad village connecting NAINA with New Panvel is currently underway. It is worth noting that in 2021-22, the scheme was approved for implementation over three years, from 2021-22 to 2023-24, at a total cost of Rs 5,182 crore, which includes the construction of 946 bridges (396 ongoing and 550 new), as Dr. Mukherjee added.
