The Rail Land Development Authority
The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory body of Indian Railways, has invited bids for a 99-year lease of approximately 32,000 sqm of railway land for residential development at Kharagpur Railway Colony. Additionally, a license is offered for the redevelopment of the Railway Colony on a 2,840.07 sqm parcel at Chandimari Maidan Railway Colony under the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway.

The reserve price for the lease is set at ₹14.7 crore, with the developer required to incur an additional ₹7.54 crore for the redevelopment of railway quarters and other essential infrastructure. The permissible Floor Space Index (FSI) for the Kharagpur Railway Colony site is 2, allowing a built-up area of 64,000 sqm.

Located on Nimpura Road, Kharagpur, the site is approximately 5 km from Kharagpur Junction and the nearest bus stand. The closest commercial airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, about 141 km away. The land is bordered by railway land/colony to the east, west, and south, and Nimpura Road to the north.
