RInfra secures Rs.10.81 bn power contract

Reliance Infrastructure has recently secured contract worth Rs 10.81 billion from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), which is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for certain packages of the Kudankulam project, said official sources, elaborating that the company has received the contract for Common Services System, Structure & Components (SSC) package and allied civil works of Unit -3 and 4 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project at Tirunelveli District in Tamil Nadu. They said adding that the contract entails design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of SSC package and allied civil works. The project in question is to be commissioned in 56 months. RInfra secured the project amidst tough competition from leading EPC players like Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Tata Projects and BGR. It expects to target EPC opportunities worth Rs 2 trillion, with an aim to increase its EPC order book to Rs 500 billion in the current financial year.
