REC-NTPC inks pact for Rs.18,668 cr project

In order to place the super power project on fast track, the Rural Electrification Corporation and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd., an arm of NTPC, have recently signed a loan agreement for establishing the 3x800 MW Patratu Super Thermal Power Project Phase-I located in the state of Jharkhand. An ambitious power project, which entailed a staggering investment of Rs.18,668 crore, is being financed in debt-equity ratio of 75:25. For the entire debt component of the project funds have been sanctioned by REC as sole lender for the project where in Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd holding 74% stake, said an official spokesperson.
