Ramky Infrastructure Limited has been awarded two significant contracts by Power Grid Energy Services Limited to enhance the power distribution infrastructure in Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh. The first contract is valued at ₹107.39 crore, and the second at ₹23.80 crore, both exclusive of GST.

These contracts, part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aim to reduce Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses in Ladakh from 49.04% in 2021-22 to 27.85% by 2024-25. With a sanctioned cost of ₹687.05 crore, RDSS will also ensure grid connectivity in the Changthang region and downline infrastructure in the Zanskar region.

The project involves constructing and commissioning seven 66KV substations, laying 70 km of new distribution lines, reconditioning 550 km with AB cables, and installing approximately 400 distribution transformers. These efforts will be executed over 30 months to significantly improve power distribution efficiency in the region.
