Rajasthan gets ₹32,302-cr roads under Bharatmala Pariyojana
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkar informed that the Union Transport ministry has targeted to build 1,976-km of highways costing ₹32,302 crore in Rajasthan under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. On the request of state's CM, the ministry has also agreed to link Jaipur-Dausa highway with Mumbai-Delhi expressway. He also appealed to the state to cooperate with the Centre on land acquisition for national and express highway projects as well as in providing compensation to farmers. The ministry can develop a new green highway linking Jaipur with the Mumbai-Delhi expressway. On the pending works on Jaipur-Delhi highway, it will prepare a new DPR for its completion. The minister said that there has been a 40% growth in road construction in Rajasthan over the last six years. The length of NHs in the state is 10,661km and all the districts are connected by national highways. He also promised to prepare a DPR for a hybrid road/flyover in Jodhpur to solve the traffic problems in the city. Apart from this, a DPR is being prepared for 22 other projects with a length of 2,811km costing ₹50,000 crore.
