The Congress government in Chhattisgarh in its recently released manifesto has issued a separate 16-point local manifesto for Raipur, pledging metro rail services, industrial growth and safe drinking water for the city, Raipur mayor Pramod Dubey, who is also contesting from the Raipur Parliamentary seat in Raipur, said that the party in its local manifesto stated that the constituency will be developed as an industrial hub, in an environmentally friendly way, to attract IT and technical industries. Steps will be taken to ensure potable water supply in all homes and water for irrigation for the farming community. The metro project, which is currently lying in limbo, will be the top priority of the party. Superfast trains connecting the city with Haridwar, Bhopal and other tourist and religious places will be introduced on fast tracked basis.
