Railways Approves Rs 8.48 Cr for Final Survey of Melli–Dentam Railway Line in Sikkim

Melli–Dentam-Railway-Line
The Ministry of Railways has approved Rs 8.48 crore for the Final Location Survey (FLS) of the proposed Melli–Dentam railway line in Sikkim. The project aims to improve regional connectivity, boost tourism, and enhance national security.

Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba had recently met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to push for faster progress on the project. He requested timely completion of the FLS, preparation and approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and early execution of the railway line.

Once developed, the Melli–Dentam railway link is expected to significantly improve accessibility in the Himalayan state and support economic development.
