The long-pending Kotipalli-Narasapuram railway line project has gained momentum with the Central Government allocating Rs. 200cr. Initially, the project was supposed to commence from June and now it got postponed to September this year. A Special Purpose Vehicle was already set up with the Central and the State governments as partners to complete three railway projects in the State and this railway line was second in the list. Once it is completed, the railway line could provide economic transportation to agriculture and horticulture produce of the verdant Konaseema region to different destinations, besides providing train transport facility to the commuters. Even as the budgetary allocation was carried out in the last week of February, the date of commencement of works has been postponed time and again but now the railways will build the project on priority basis.
