The state government in Andhra Pradesh has decided to go all out for the establishment of a separate railway zone with Visakhapatnam as the headquarters, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu revealed, adding that his Government would stretch every nerve to complete the mega Polavaram project on the Godavari by 2019 as it would be a boon for the development of the State. Visakhapatnam district would get Godavari waters as it would inject booster for developing agro and many other industries that are coming up in the district. In its scheme of things, the state government resolve to develop Visakhapatnam as the main manufacturing, IT, tourism allied units’ hub. The state had accepted the special package offered by the Centre in lieu of the promised special category status, as clear-cut assurance was given by the Centre that there would be no loss for the State.
