Punjab pushes road projects worth ₹248-cr

The PWD minister in the Punjab cabinet, Vijay Inder Singla recently laid the foundation stones of different road projects including at Halwara and Bassian villages in Ludhiana district. Apart from this, he also informed that an amount of Rs 248.17 crore would be spent on the construction and repair 2,537-km link road falling under the jurisdiction of the district and connecting at least 100 localities of surrounding districts. He claimed that Jagroan-Raikot-Malerkotla road had already been declared a national highway and project report for this road stretch is being prepared and the construction work would be initiated very shortly. Raikot-Talwandi, Chhapar-Bhaini Baringa and Sarabha-Raikot are among other roads which had been shortlisted for reconstruction and upgrades, he said.
