The state-level committee of smart city has approved projects worth ₹122 crores and ₹58 crore will be invested on building smart roads. Preparing of the DPR will cost ₹20 crore and disaster management project and LED segment ₹44 crores. Tenders are being invited for equipment for disaster management. Under the smart road project, four roads will be taken up for complete upgradation including widening and construction of footpaths. The projects include construction of over and under bridges on Pakhowal Road railway intersection. The railway over bridge of 839.83 m would be constructed from the Sidhwan Canal side towards Hero Bakery along Pakhowal Road over the existing railway track. One railway under bridge will also be constructed from the Hero Bakery side towards Sidhwan Canal, while another railway underbridge will start from Ishmeet Road towards Rotary Club Road for reaching Ferozepur Road, informed MC commissioner KP Brar.
