Polavaram Project to Be Completed by March 2027: Andhra CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Polavaram Project is scheduled for completion by March 2027. The Central government has approved an in-principle grant of ₹12,157 crore for the project, with ₹6,000 crore allocated for 2024-25 and ₹6,157 crore for FY26. Key components like the spillway, gates, approach, and connectivity are expected to be finished by May 2025.

Once completed, the Polavaram Project, located in Eluru district's Polavaram Mandalam, will store 194 TMC of water, facilitate the use of 322 TMC, irrigate 7.2 lakh acres, supply drinking water to 28.5 lakh people, and generate 960 MW of hydropower.
