PNC Infratech wins Delhi-Meerut expressway Phase-5
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded ₹524.96 crore Phase-5 of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway contract to PNC Infratech. The scope of work includes the construction of a four-lane stretch on the Hapur Road section which starts from Shakarpur, eight km ahead of Lohianagar Mandi. It is to be completed in two years.

Preparations are in full swing to open the Delhi-Meerut Expressway for vehicles from March 31. On the directions from the Centre, NHAI has engaged additional engineers and workers to complete the remaining works in the second phase of this project in the next ten days. Phase 1 of the project (Akshardham to UP Gate) caters to about 1.2 lakh passenger car units (PCUs) per day. Phase 2 (UP Gate to Dana) is about 19.2km while phase 4 (Dasna to Meerut) is about 32-km and is being built as a six-lane access-controlled highway. In the next few days, the fourth phase of the expressway starting from Paratapur will be opened for the public.
