PMC clears Rs.421 cr road project

Pune Municipal Corporation is all set to start work on the Rs.421 crore project, which is expected to free the traffic chokehold at Chandni Chowk area of the city. The project requires about 28 hectares of land, of which the corporation needs to hand over at least 14 hectares before it can start work on it. To initiate the actual work it first needs space where traffic can be directed and has sought clarity on this score and has been assured the concerned agency will move quickly. The body is yet to figure out the ownership of the land it needs to acquire, how much is with government agencies and the ratio privately owned but in totality the project is set to start shortly.
