Assam gets Rs.600 cr for infra facelift

The Centre has recently sanctioned Rs.600 crore for carrying out multiple infra upgrade projects including Rs.200 crore for the repairing of national highways in Assam which was damaged by the recent floods. A statement from the ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated that the minister has also sanctioned Rs.400 crore for dredging work in Brahmaputra. The Brahmaputra Express Highway will be constructed in Assam as a highway-cum-embankment to check floods in future. A delegation from Assam, led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, recently met Gadkari to chalk of these plans.
