PM Unveils Railway & Petrochemical Projects Worth Over ₹1 Lakh Cr

The Prime Minister initiated the construction of Railway Workshops, Loco Sheds, Pit lines/Coaching Depots, Phaltan – Baramati New line, and Electric Traction System upgradation work. He also dedicated two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) and Western DFC’s Operation Control Center (OCC) in Ahmedabad.
The Prime Minister flagged off ten new Vande Bharat trains and extended four existing routes. Additionally, new passenger trains were inaugurated between Asansol-Hatia and Tirupati-Kollam stations.
Freight trains were flagged off on the Dedicated Freight Corridor from various locations. The Prime Minister also dedicated 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at Railway Stations, 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals, and 35 Rail Coach Restaurants nationwide. He also launched more than 1500 One Station One Product Stalls and Solar Powered Stations/buildings at 975 locations.
In addition to railway projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a Petrochemicals complex of Petronet LNG worth over Rs. 20,600 crores in Dahej, Gujarat. This project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and boost socio-economic development in the region.
The Prime Minister initiated the construction of Ekta Malls in Gujarat and Maharashtra, aimed at promoting Indian handlooms, handicrafts, traditional products, and One District One Product (ODOP) items.
Several other projects, including electrification of sections, track doubling/multi-tracking, and development of railway goods sheds and workshops, were also inaugurated by the Prime Minister. These initiatives underscore the government's commitment to building a modern and resilient railway network, driving economic growth, and generating employment opportunities
