PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 76,000 Cr Vadhvan Port Project in Palghar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects in Palghar, Maharashtra. Key highlights include the launch of the Vadhvan Port project, with an investment of approximately Rs 76,000 crore, and the initiation of 218 fisheries projects worth Rs 1,560 crore.
Vadhvan Port, near Dahanu in Palghar district, is set to become one of India's largest deep-water ports, enhancing the country's maritime connectivity by accommodating large container vessels and offering direct access to international shipping routes. The project is expected to boost trade, create significant employment opportunities, and contribute to regional economic development while adhering to strict environmental standards.
Additionally, the Prime Minister launched the national rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support system, a Rs 360 crore project, and laid the foundation for various fishery infrastructure projects, including modernized fishing harbours and fish markets. Over five lakh jobs are expected to be created in the fisheries sector as a result of these initiatives.
