PM Modi Inaugurates Key Railway Projects to Boost Regional Connectivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several major railway projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and driving socio-economic growth across India.

He inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division, covering 742.1 km, including the Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla and Pathankot-Joginder Nagar sections. This move fulfills long-standing aspirations, promoting tourism, infrastructure development, and employment in Jammu & Kashmir while improving connectivity to the rest of the country.

In Telangana, the Charlapalli New Terminal Station, developed at a cost of ₹413 crore, was inaugurated. Located in Medchal-Malkajgiri District, this eco-friendly terminal with modern amenities will ease congestion at existing stations like Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda.

The foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building in Odisha was also laid, aiming to enhance connectivity in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and neighboring areas, contributing to regional socio-economic development.

Highlighting India’s rapid progress, PM Modi noted that since 2025 began, India’s metro rail network has expanded to over 1,000 kilometers, reflecting the nation’s commitment to improved infrastructure.
