Adding to the smartness of the smart industrial port city in the premises of the port, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has taken up Rs 35.44 billion infra projects across sectors including roads and highways. The city, which is spreading over 700 acres, includes a multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) committed by Container Corporation of India (Concor), a four million ton per annum pellet plant by Thriveni Earthmovers, a wood park and a dedicated food park for edible oils, said an industry insider, adding that Concor, which pledged an investment of Rs two billion in the port preises, has already been allotted land and the company is currently in the process of carrying out a detailed engineering study. The MMLP would comprise warehousing zones, container terminals and bulk cargo terminals. The park envisages a suite of facilities like inland container depots, container freight stations, parking, mechanized handling and inter-modal transfers at a single location. Similarly, Thriveni Earthmovers is setting up a four mtpa pellet plant within the Smart Industrial Port City on an area measuring 177 acres and entailing an investment of about Rs 25 billion, he claimed.
