Paradip Port Emerges as India's Top Cargo Handling Port
Paradip Port Authority (PPA) achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing Deendayal Port, Kandla, to become India's highest cargo handling major port. In FY 2023-24, Paradip Port handled a record-breaking 145.38 MMT of cargo, marking a 7.4% year-on-year growth. The port also achieved its highest-ever coastal shipping traffic of 59.19 million metric tonnes, solidifying its position as a key hub for coastal shipping in the country. Additionally, Paradip Port improved its berth productivity and handled a significant number of rakes and ships during the financial year, demonstrating its efficiency and growth trajectory.
