OMBADC approves 8 projects worth ₹2,800 cr

The Odisha Mineral Bearing Areas Development Corporation (OMBADC) recently approved eight new projects entailing a whopping investment of Rs.2,800 crore in nine mineral bearing districts of the state, official sources said, elaborating that the projects will be implemented in nine mineral bearing districts - Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada and Sundargarh. The projects in question were sanctioned at a recent meeting of the empowered officials under the chairmanship of chief secretary OMBADC and chief executive officer, Uma Nanduri A P Padhi. During the meeting she also presented financial, administrative and technical aspects for consideration and reviewed the progress of projects sanctioned earlier. The newly sanctioned projects among others, included skill development training mega lift irrigation and strengthening Adarsha vidyalayas across nine districts covered under OMBADC. Apart from these, 12 number of mega lift irrigation projects for Keonjhar district, check dam with lift irrigation projects in 5 districts, construction of ROBs at Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts including the, construction of critical road and bridges.
