NSDC Launches ‘Sampanna Ghar Abhiyan’ to Empower Rural Families
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in partnership with the Nashik Zilla Parishad and Quality Council of India (QCI), has launched the Sampanna Ghar Abhiyan, a rural housing initiative to help over 1.5 lakh families build their own homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin.

This initiative merges housing access with skill development, enabling families to not only receive support but also gain hands-on training to build their homes. The campaign unites 18 professional associations and grassroots organizations to drive self-reliance and employment in rural communities
NSDC is standardizing training modules and mobilizing certified trainers, while Shri Ramkrishna Arogya Sansthan will oversee on-ground skill delivery. The effort is led by Ashima Mittal, CEO of Nashik Zilla Parishad, with Kunal Patil (President, CREDAI Nashik Metro) and Sachin Gulve (Vice President, Nashik Citizen Forum) coordinating technical and community involvement.
A network of experts in construction, solar energy, plumbing, sanitation, and building materials is supporting the project. Partners are providing materials at factory prices, promoting solar-powered solutions with help from the Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association, and designing affordable sanitation systems in collaboration with the Indian Plumbing Association.
Local educational institutions, including Maratha Education Trust, Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, and K.K. Wagh, are also contributing, with students and faculty assisting in implementation. Rural housing engineers and Block Development Officers from Nashik Zilla Parishad will guide families in construction and government scheme benefits, ensuring both skill-building and sustainable housing solutions.
