NMC unveils Rs. 3,577.77cr smart city plans

In order to build a world class smart city project, the Nagpur Municipal Committee has proposed a staggering sum worth Rs. 3,577.77-cr for the mega project. Under the Smart City provision, projects have been divided into two components and works of Rs. 223.29-cr were proposed for making the city clean and safe whereas for Area Based Development component, works to the tune of Rs. 3,351.38-cr were proposed on an area of 12 sq km covering 8 lakh population situated in East, South, and North Nagpur. An area of 900 acres has been earmarked at Pardi, Bharatwada and Punapur situated in East Nagpur, 900 acres in Nara and Nari in North Nagpur situated on Kamptee road earmarked worth 900 acres land at Manewada in South Nagpur. The NMC has retained the same plan in draft prepared and in the presentation technical and other lacunas have been corrected.
