NMCG Approves Wetland Conservation and Treated Water Reuse Projects

The 62nd Executive Committee meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), chaired by Director-General Shri Rajeev Kumar Mital, emphasized sustainable river rejuvenation and ecosystem restoration across the Ganga basin.
Key approvals included the conservation and sustainable management of the Nathmalpur Bhagad Wetland in Bhojpur, Bihar, at a cost of ₹3.51 crore. The Committee also sanctioned ₹34.50 lakh for capacity-building initiatives to develop city-level reuse plans and train officials in Agra and Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, under the National Framework for Safe Reuse of Treated Water (SRTW).
The meeting underscored the importance of protecting wetlands and promoting the reuse of treated wastewater through targeted city-specific plans.
