Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 11 National Highway projects worth ₹6,350 crore in Jharkhand, covering Ranchi and Garhwa districts.

In Ranchi, nine projects spanning 171 km and valued at ₹3,890 crore aim to decongest urban traffic, particularly through the construction of an elevated corridor on Ratu Road. These projects will enhance connectivity with neighboring states, ease freight movement, and improve access to key tourist and religious destinations like Tilaiya Dam, Koderma Forest, Anjani Dham, and Tanginath Dham. The widening of NH-114A will reduce congestion in Giridih town, helping cut logistics costs and boosting industrial and agricultural activity.

In Garhwa, two projects worth ₹2,460 crore were launched to improve connectivity in the Palamu-Garhwa region. The newly inaugurated 4-lane stretch from Shankha to Khajuri on NH-39 will reduce travel time by more than half, enhancing access to Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The foundation stone was also laid for a key segment of the Raipur-Dhanbad Economic Corridor, which will bypass congested areas like Rupsera and Gumla, improving road safety and accelerating regional trade, tourism, and development.
