Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, underscored the crucial role of infrastructure in driving national development, during the inaugural session of a two-day conference on "Latest Emerging Trends and Technologies in Road and Bridge Construction." The event, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department and the Indian Road Congress, took place in Bhopal.

Highlighting the direct impact of improved transport systems on economic growth and job creation, Shri Gadkari noted that infrastructure remains a key focus for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision for India's future. He stressed that robust infrastructure is not only essential for progress but also sets the foundation for long-term national development.

Key objectives highlighted during the address included ensuring uncompromising quality in construction, reducing road accidents, environmental protection, and overcoming on-ground challenges. Shri Gadkari emphasized that these goals can be achieved through coordinated efforts across all levels.

He also drew attention to the importance of rural road development, advocating for a "waste to wealth" policy. This approach focuses on utilizing waste materials in road construction, offering both economic and environmental benefits, contributing to a sustainable model for the nation's infrastructure growth.
