Nitin Gadkari & Ashwini Vaishnaw Launch PRISM-SG Portal to Fast-Track ROB Projects

Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the PRISM-SG Portal in New Delhi to streamline approval and inspection processes for road and rail bridge projects.

The PRISM-SG Portal has been developed to digitise key processes related to the construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs), including Quality Assurance Plan approvals, Welding Procedure Specification Sheets, and fabrication stage inspections of steel girders. The platform enables end-to-end online submission, scrutiny, approvals, inspection scheduling, and real-time monitoring with a complete audit trail.

The portal integrates multiple stakeholders, including road owning agencies, Indian Railways, contractors, fabricators and inspection agencies, bringing all approval and inspection processes onto a single digital platform.

The initiative is expected to significantly reduce approval and inspection timelines for ROB projects from around 12 months to 3–4 months, improving efficiency, transparency and coordination while accelerating the delivery of critical bridge infrastructure across the country.
