NIAL floats global bids for ₹20,000-cr Airport in NCR

Shortly after getting nod from State government on the selection of concessionaire for the Jewar International Airport project in the NCR region in Noida, the Noida International Airport Ltd recently floated global bids for the Jewar Airport project entailing an investment of ₹20,000 crore. NIAL, which is a nodal agency set up by the state government to execute the projects, has also launched its official website www.nialjewar.com where the bid document was uploaded. The global tendering process will be completed in six months and the final selection of the concessionaire would be made shortly thereafter. The selected (concessionaire) would be given a lease period of 40 years for the development of the project and the lease would be extended by another 30 years following a rebidding process on the right of first refusal (ROFR) basis with the GMR group. Touted as the largest in the country, the Jewar airport is likely to be ready by 2023. The last date for bid purchase is Oct. 15 and the last date for submission is Oct. 30. Technical and financial bids will be opened on Nov. 6 and Nov. 29 respectively. After that about two-month time will be needed for NIAL to study the bids and select the concessionaire, said CEO, NIAL, Vir Singh.
