NHSRCL speeds up ₹7-bn rail terminal project

The National High-Speed Rail Limited (NHSRCL) has recently opened the tendering process for the development of the Sabarmati terminal hub, which are part of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project and will serve as source station for all passengers boarding at Ahmedabad. The other terminal hub will be located at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai and entailed an investment worth ₹3-bn and ₹4-bn respectively and the contract for the project is likely to be awarded very shortly and it will take about 30 months to complete, an official spokesperson, Dhananjay Kumar said adding that 16 companies have submitted their bidding documents in Ahmedabad. To be developed as a business hub, the terminal buildings will also offer connectivity to the Ahmedabad metro and the BRT corridor, he claimed.
