NHPC Hydropower Capacity Reaches 7,771 MW; Eight New Projects Under Construction

NHPC Limited and its JV/subsidiary companies have commissioned 23 hydropower projects as of October 2025, with a total installed capacity of 7,771 MW. Power generation from these projects stood at 29,894 million units in 2022–23, 26,056 million units in 2023–24, 25,194 million units in 2024–25, and 23,015 million units during April–October 2025.

Eight hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 8,514 MW are currently under construction, further strengthening India’s clean-energy portfolio.

NHPC continues to support local communities by creating employment opportunities for residents and Project Affected Families (PAFs) through contractors and local bidding opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship and improving livelihoods.

For grievance redressal, citizens can use the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), where submissions are reviewed and resolved in a time-bound manner.
